    Our History

  • 1984 Gus Delany founded Dee International. After five years in business and a couple of product trials Gus learned of the laser toner business.

  • 1989 Gus Delany founded D/ I LaserProducts of Dallas, Inc. Gus started the basic process of refilling laser toner cartridges on the back porch of his home. His wife, Dee Delany, was the secretary for the corporation. Gus was a marketeer. He knew from early on in order to grow his business in a highly competitive commodity market he needed a vehicle to market the toner cartridges. Gus developed a program called LaserCare. LaserCare offered 4-hour service and supplies all bundled together in the price of the toner cartridge. Today, LaserCare still offers our best value to our clients.

  • 1992 D/I LaserProducts moved to a 500 sq. ft. facility in Lewisville, TX (a northern suburb of Dallas Fort Worth). That same year Gus doubled the space to 1,000.

  • 1993 D/I LaserProducts moved to a new larger space, occupying 2,000 square feet, and continued to build their client base. The sales revenue broke $1,000,000 that year.

  • 1997 By 1997 after two more expansions the company occupied 3,500 square feet, enjoyed a stable client base, and had revenues of over $2,500,000. D I LaserProducts broke ground on their own building in the fall of 1997.

  • 1998 D/I LaserProducts moved into their own stand-alone facility in March of 1998.
  • 1999 In the spring of 1999, Gus Delany passed away after a long fight with cancer. That year, Dee his wife, started running the day-to-day operations of the company and subsequently applied for Minority Owned Business status.
  • 2000 In January of 2000 Dee brought in Tom Shambo as the VP of sales to help guide the company. That summer the company converted to one software base for all operations. In the fall Dee remained as President and named Tom Shambo the CEO.
  • 2001 Many of our DFW clients requested we offer our services in Houston. That spring we opened a sales and service branch in North Houston.
  • 2002 In December we purchased Big Foot Printer Supplies, (an HP distributor) to boost our client base in the Houston market.
  • 2003 In November we purchased Certified Laser Repair in Houston to again broaden our client base in that market.

  • 2004 In February we entered the copier business via the purchase of the assets of Dal-Tex business systems. Dal-Tex was a well known family owned company in the DFW metroplex. With the purchase came the people and expertise. This move enabled DI LaserProducts to offer a truly complete print solution ...copiers, printers, MFP's and fax machines.

  • 2005 By mid year we integrated the two companies. Due to our growth, in the fall we restructured to vertically align the departments. With that alignment came the positions of VP of Sales, VP of Accounting, VP of IS, and Director of Operations.  Take a look at our management team.

  • 2006 D/I LaserProducts of Dallas establishes a DBA for marketing purposes.  "DI Digital Imaging & Laser Products, Inc." will be used on all correspondence and marketing.

  • 2007 D/I LaserProducts expanded its facilities for a total of 23,000 sq. ft.
